About Pastor Stephen Lee...

He Started from Nothing in 2006

"...like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it shows and becomes the largest of all garden plants,..." Mark 4:31-32

Unlike most Mandarin-speaking ministers who usually go to the East or West coast, or even big cities like Dallas and Houston, Stephen chose to different path, he believed that in West Texas there were many lost sheep without shepherds, so he followed God's calling and came to Midland, TX.

Servant Evangelism

"For even the son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45

He started visiting local Chinese restaurants during their employees' break and after working hours. Many workers began opening their hearts after a few visits and started sharing about their needs: translating letters, giving rides to the bank, hospital and grocery store, calling the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) , assisting the Safe Place to interpret for some Mandarin-speaking victims, and providing ESL classes. When we heard their needs, we asked ourselves what Jesus would do. We love those whom Jesus loves. We are just His hands and feet.

Friendship Evangelism

"Love each other as I have loved you. Greater Love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." John 15:12-13

Through servant leadership, the restaurant workers gradually built up their trust with us. When their hearts are not as closed and hard, Stephen started sharing the Gospel with them. It even took a few years for some people to accept us. Most Chinese have Buddhism backgrounds, so they always want to give us something after they have received help because they have never experienced the unconditional love. What we have been doing is to introduce Jesus's love to them, the Greater Love.
